5:30 pm update

At about 4:00 this evening Sam took a plunge for the worse. Her fever sky rocketed to 110 and she started sweating to the point wear it was drinching the bed sheets. She became disalusional. She was screaming "Mommy Mommy Mommy!" And she started talking in some kind of language that I could not understand. She started gasping for air. They hooked her up to the vent and they induced a light coma and Sam will be brought out of the coma tomorrow morning. And will probably be out of the coma fully by tomorrow night. I will try to update later on tonight if I get anymore news.

2:30 pm Update

This kid slept for almost 2 hours till those nurses came in and woke her up. Since she isnt taking her medicine orally they inserted an IV in her arm. Now she is being a cranky irratable 3 year old. Just another thing for her to rip out which in fact she has already tried to do. She is sweating up a storm. We took off her "pital gown" as she calls it and all she has on is her diaper. I have been placing cold rags on her head which has seemed to help a little. But she is still so uncomfortable. Poor Baby.

Then You Stand

Sam Isabelle and Elliot Grace were born on July 27, 2004 at 24 weeks gestation. They both weighed 1 lbs 2 oz each. They spent 5 and a half months in the hospital. And then finally they got to come home with oxygen. All they did was cry for 4 months straight and I cried with them too.
The reason I started a blog is because Holland and Eden's blog inspired me to do so. Yesterday morning Sam got admitted to the hospital because she has pneumonia. She wasnt feeling good at all on Thursday and she was up all night. I finally broke down and called the pediatrician. When we got there Sam was even worse. Her eyes were watering and her cough sounded like she was dying. Seriously. At the ped. office she was satting in the low 80's. They did a treatment and that didnt work one single bit. They did a chest x-ray and she was screaming bloody murder the whole freakin time. They decided to admit her. When we got there they put a nasal cannula on her. I had to hold her down while she screamed bloody murder once again. She kept trying to pull it out and she finally gave up after about 15 minutes and went to sleep. During the night last night she woke up at around 3 and started screaming. It was like she was having a panic attack. She once again started trying to pull the nasal cannula out and I had to calm her down. After 3 and a half hours of watching videos, singing songs, and trying to calm down she finally went to sleep about 6:30 am this morning. And I went to sleep about 7 and slept till about 9. Sam woke up at about 9:30. She played with her dolls for about 45 minutes than concked out again. Its about 12:30 now and I just got back from checking on Elliot. Elliot woke up with a stuffy nose this morning. We've been giving her some medicine for it every 4 hours. About 15 minutes ago the nurses woke Sam out of a deep sleep and gave her her antibiotics. Stupid nurses. Well anyways Sam forced herself to puke it up. Now I am once again trying to get her to take a nap. I will post an update later.
